I love film, but unfortunately it's more of a luxury these days. It's also quite fragile and testy. Let me just tell you a little story...
So there I was, anxiously rewinding the film in my little toy camera. My heart was fluttering with excitement as I was finally going to get this film developed. Well, my little anxious heart got ahead of my little flustered brain and I ended up ruining the film as I opened up the back of the camera only to find the film staring right back at me. Boom! Light doesn't waste time. Those babies were gone. I was devastated. Yes, I could have tried to close it back and try again, perhaps salvaging some of the exposures...but that's just too simple folks. I just watched it all go sour in front of me as I rolled it up in the light. Don't ask me what I was thinking...I clearly was not. I suppose I was just so incredibly perturbed that I didn't even want to try saving anything and didn't think of it in my moment of horror.
...learning from my mistakes and moving forward...
Thankfully, I had another roll of film ready to go in my AE1. I was, of course, determined not to let these darling little photos go and die on me. I put on my renewed mind and went to work. Miraculously, the film rolled up quite nicely, so I sent her off to be developed that evening...ahhh, I could breathe again.
So there ya have it folks...
Film: Sensitive and fragile, but with a little care she produces brilliance.
As for now, I'll leave you with some of the shots from the AE1. (Most of them from almost a year ago).
